The canonical erection and the inauguration of the Province of Mary Queen of Apostles was held on the 11th of October 2008 at Heralds of Good News Seminary, Melavalady, Trichy, Tamilnadu, India. Most. Rev. Agnelo Rufino Gracias, the Pontifical Commissary to the HGN, together with Rev. Msgr. Peter Francis, the Vicar General of the Diocese of Kumbakonam, besides the priests and religious present, inaugurated the Province of Mary Queen of Apostles.
The First Provincial Assembly was held in August 2008 and elected the following team to be the First Provincial Administration of the HGN-MQAP.

Bifurcation of the MQAP: Mary Queen of Apostles Province was bifurcated on the 27th of April 2017. Out of 235 Permanent Members of the MQA Province, 116 chose to remain in the Mother Province(MQAP), whereas the rest of them chose to be in the new Province(Divine Mercy Province). The bifurcation was acted out in accordance with the Canon Law 581 and the Constitution of the HGN Art. Nos. 137-139.
